When you count your blessings this Thanksgiving and appreciate the family members and friends who bring the best to your life, remember to appreciate yourself, as well.

You're among the few who are brave enough to "independently contract" and carve a niche in this industry. What an amazing challenge and incredible journey! With enough skill, energy and work ethic, this business is recession-proof, has no glass ceiling and offers unlimited opportunity for growth. Few other careers allow you to set your own schedule, manage your own business
and make friends along the way.

Be sure to thank those who inspire you, help you and make your job easier. Thank your family for their support and, as you head into the new year, be sure to make them part of your goal setting. Knowing that you are working toward goals that reflect their interests and desires (such as a family vacation or a new car) makes it easier for them to be understanding during those "crunch times" when you are hassled
and hurried.

Fourth Quarter Strategies for Maximizing Your Market

Savvy real estate professionals know that the key to setting the
table for a successful new year is to start early. While much of the competition falls into cruise control, plans holiday parties or simply waits for the economic shift to suit their style, top producers turn up the heat to sweep the market share in their absence.

Here are some time-tested tips and techniques designed to ensure your "sales table" is perfectly set in anticipation
of a great 2007:

  1. Prospect, Promote and Prosper. In changing markets, many agents stop advertising, re-direct their marketing dollars to the year ahead and put prospecting in park until after the holidays. Stay forward of the competition by continuing to market yourself with creative, consistent, targeted marketing.
  1. Spread the Holiday Cheer. Make the most of this opportunity to reach out to your client base with face-to-face visits. Choose 50 or so of your top prospects, and make plans to visit them. What may seem like a lot of time can easily be broken down into roughly 10 contacts per week. Would that be worth a sale or two? Sure it would. Make the calls, shake hands, and thank these very important people for their contribution to your career. Getting an early start adds momentum as you head into the new year—while others are still busy putting away streamers and party hats.
